Administrative Experience
- DEAN (Academic Programs) of IGIDR (2003-05)
Prof. Sharma worked for more than two years (about 26 months) as DEAN (Academic Programs) and was responsible for looking after all academic matters of the Institute including academic administration such as convening the executive committee meetings, faculty meetings, academic council meetings and coordinating their task; supervising and conducting admission process to M.Sc., M.Phil and Ph.D. Programmes; supervising and conducting examinations; dealing with relevant organisations within India and abroad for information on academic matters, student placement, etc. Prof. Sharma was the first Dean to formulate the rules and regulations for IGIDR’s academic programs.

He also headed Students’ Welfare and Grievances Redressal Cell. This assignment was for a period of two years (24 months), with a responsibility of students’ general matters on “welfare and grievances” such as placement, internship, hostel facilities and allotment, assistance in admission process, allocation of TAs / RAs, etc. Prof. Sharma was the first faculty member to head this committee, established at IGIDR during this period.
